Indieville - Nular

■ Name: Nular

■ Items: All items are stored inside her hair. Sometimes she sticks even more random shit in there too.

• Flask: Filled with a brew native to her home world with no English translation. Usually the stuff gets called "Frog Water" for being completely flavorless, and it's a good 10x more potent than any earth alcohol. For her it's like if a human was drinking whiskey though. 
  
• Ziploc Bag and Phone: Yes that's a phone in a Ziploc bag. You never know when you're going to need to take a swim right?
• Waterproof Pencil Pouch: She uses this thing as a wallet. She got it from a back-to-school sale and liked the monster face. 
• The Little Blue Book of Secrets: Lady loves her gossip, and she writes it all down, accumulating everyone's dirty secrets in her little book here. Luckily, she writes the whole thing in Hygrean, her native language, so nobody can read it but her.
• Lilly Pad Earrings: She really loves these things, and they where one of the only things she brought with her from Hygrea. She's almost never seen without them.
• Bartender's Uniform: Made out of the same material swimsuits are. Weird. She'll wear normal clothes on a regular day, but she always has a swimsuit on underneath.

Nular actually truely cares for people, and at the end of the day, just wants everyone to feel a-okay. She's always willing to listen and ba a shoulder to cry on, and more often than not, ends up crying herself. She'll always do her best to give people advice once their story is heard, and gives her 110% to everything she does.

Always interested in other people, what they are, and what's going on in their lives. She loves learning about new things and creatures, figuring out what makes them tick. She's very interested in what it's like to be other species and often species shifts because of this. Sometimes, she's intrested in people for a lot more than that, if you get my drift, but her teasing rarely ever goes anywhere.

 It's one thing to be curious, it's another to be nosey. Sometimes Nular asks too much of people or pries too deep, tho she'll usually apologize afterwards. As much as she likes people, she also spends a lot of time alone, lost in thought and playing to her vices of cigarettes and booze. She's tried to break the habit before, but she's never been able to truly kick it to the curb, and she gets hooked on and obsessed with things easily.

■ Background:
        Born on the planet Hygrea, Nular had a happy, normal childhood. Her species spends most of their adolescence completely gender fluid, and her own sex set early at 16 years old. By the time she was 18, Nular decided she wanted to see the rest of what the universe had to offer, traveling far and moving to a market city where all kinds of aliens and magical creatures had decided to sell their wares of take up residence. She found that bars where one of her favorite places to be, finding people and their stories fascinating. After a lot of hard work as a bartender at one place, she was finally able to open up a bar of her own, naming it The Little Pond and taking great pride in her establishment. 
    Unfortunately, this market was nowhere near as safe as Indieville, and her accomplishment was fairly short lived. She had a run in with a notorious black market dealer, who attempted to cut off her hair for it's high value on the market as one of the strongest, yet most flexible materials around. He didn't get too far, only taking about a third of it before he was run off by bounty hunters, but the damage was done. Taking her hair hurt Nular to a point she actually can't feel pain anymore, and she won't flinch even if an arm is ripped off.
    After such a traumatic event, she couldn't stay there any longer. Selling her bar, Nular started traveling again, eventually finding the little haven that is Indieville! After moving into town, she hopes to reopen her bar here, where it is much, much safer.

■ On Xolotin: A amphibious species from a water-world called Hygrea, xolotin come in two varieties; freshwater and saltwater, each with their own unique traits. As Nular is a freshwater, or "freshie", only that will be covered here.

• Gills: Located on her shoulders and hips, Nular prefers to keep these exposed as often as possible, and most of her clothes are tailored to go around them. She can only breath freshwater. 
  
• Hair: All freshies have incredibly long and completely prehensile "hair". It's much longer than it appears usually, as most freshies double or tripple it back to make it more manageable in smaller spaces. Nular's is around 65 yards long when fully extended. Though, it only looks like hair. It's actually nerve filaments, not unlike a sea anemone's tendrils (sans the stinging). Because of this it is extremely sensitive to pain, and losing even a foot of a single strand can be compared to being stabbed into a leg. Losing a small lock down to the roots is worse than losing a limb, and having it all cut off can lead to a death. Cutting an xolotin's hair is considered an extreme and brutal form of torture. Luckily, evolution has a little fail-safe for this; their hair is tougher than solid steel and only something along the lines of an industrial grade laser can really damage it. All of this has, in Nular's case, led to her lack of ability to feel pain. She has been through so much it has damaged the sense, and most things don't even phase her. This does not change the fact that her body is actually incredibly weak and not well adapted to earth gravity, and she can run out of energy or be badly injured very easily. 
• Species Swapping: To some extent, all xolotin are shape shifters. It's not anything magical like werewolves or demons, but they can change their appearance to match another species of a similar size and shape. They are capable of growing limbs and eyes, horns, splitting their fused index and middle fingers, and changing colors, but they can't get rid of anything that is already there or change their internal anatomy. Their blood will always run grey and their hair will always remain long. The blonde, horned version in the picture would be Nular taking on the form of a succubus.
• Hygrean Launguage: Nular's native language esentially sounds like what I can only describe as "fluid frog-speech". She has a kind of croaky accent even when speaking english, and tends to croak when supriesed or laughing. Xolotin have higher standards when it comes to voices and singing than humans, so someone like Nular who is considered to have a average singing voice by xolotin standards has a fairly damn good voice by human standards. 
• Last Name: Xolotin don't actually have last names! If it's required on some document or form, she'll usually just put down her species since, hey, that works.

■ Other:

• Loves fish! Especially koi fish! She thinks they're super cute. uvu
• Nular's inability to feel pain causes her to cut up her hands or get weird bruises a lot since she doesn't realize she's getting hurt. 
• Sometimes she gets wrapped up in "earth culture" and buys things she can't use. Like nail polish, mascara, or candles.

■ RP Method: I like using Discord, but I'll make anything work! Just him me up if ya' wanna hang. Both RP and are good, though fair warning, sometimes I can be rather slow as I am a busy college student and am dying a good 95% of the time.
